These resemble limericks, but are not because the first, second, and fifth lines do not all rhyme, and the third and fourth lines do not both rhyme.

Short Poems
The Queen's Diamonds
Queen had a diamond, fit for kings.
She looked in her diamond, what'd she seen?
She'd seen herself, no doubt,
In all that sparkling array.
Brightness from it must've scared her away.
Mother of Pearls
Mom gave soup to daughter with curls.
In that soup the daughter found pearls.
Never seen them before,
So she gave them a taste.
Surprised, the only look on her face.
Mr. Huntley
Loudness of city, softness of country.
It doesn't matter to Mr. Huntley.
His only request:
Give him a pretty sight.
Lost his hearing, but sees just right.
